On 8 May 1988, Al Shami opened its doors in Oxford — by our own account, the first Lebanese restaurant in the UK outside London.

Thirty-eight years later, we're still here — family-run, and open almost every day since. The menu is the food we grew up with: meze to share, meat and chicken cooked over charcoal, and Lebanese bread straight from the oven.
It has always been simple: good ingredients, cooked well, served generously at a table full of people you love.

Simply good food — since 1988.
